A standard product fits a standard application. But what if you need a product with a very specific size, design feature, or material? In these situations, customization is crucial. With custom design services, you can modify a standard product to create a new product that matches your specific requirements. Many projects require personalized metal electrical enclosures, so we encourage you to seek out a company that offers top-notch engineering services and welcomes customization. At American Products Contract Manufacturing, we are dedicated to providing the perfect metal enclosure for your needs, whether that’s a standard product or a customized creation. Custom Laser-Cut Enclosures
The Benefits
You can create the perfect enclosure for your needs. Metal enclosures vary widely in design, shape, material, purpose, protection, and more. If a standard product doesn’t fit the requirements of your application, you can modify a product’s design to make it work. Although this will involve a little more time and expense, a perfect enclosure is well worth the effort. Since you will likely have this enclosure for decades to come, take some time now to make sure its specifications are perfect.
The 3D design software allows for easy reviews. At American Products Contract Manufacturing, we create personalized designs for our metal enclosures using 3D modeling software. Not only does this software simplify the design process, but it also enables our customers to review the design in a live, interactive, and convenient format. Plus, you can view the 3D model from the comfort of your own office!
The Process
Custom laser-cut enclosures begin with an excellent design. Typically, engineers will modify an existing metal enclosure design to fit the customer’s requests. For example, you may wish to adjust the size of an enclosure so that it can fit into a particular space. You might also ask to add an additional protective feature to ensure the security of the enclosed electric system. Or, you could request a customized finish for functional or aesthetic purposes. The company’s engineers will review your requests and incorporate them into the final design, creating the perfect enclosure for your application.
The customer can review the design. Before the enclosure moves to the manufacturing stage, you can review its design using 3D modeling software. The interactive program will make it easy for you to evaluate every detail, from the measurements and material to the protective features. Once you approve the design, the plan will be sent forward to the next stage of the production process.
Lasers will simplify the manufacturing process. Virtually no set-up time is necessary due to the tool-less option provided by computer numerical control (CNC) lasers. The lasers will quickly cut the metal material, easily dealing with complex shapes and designs. Plus, they provide excellent accuracy, precise lines, and clean-cut edges. Without lasers, the manufacturing process would be far more arduous and lengthy. The process ends with power coating, assembly, and packaging. After welding, a deburr process will clean up the edges of the metal. Next, a powder coating will cover the metal, providing long-lasting protection and an attractive finish (in any color and texture you like). High-quality fasteners and rivets will hold the pieces together following assembly. In addition, many companies utilize quality control processes like ISO-9001 to ensure the reliability and quality of their manufacturing procedure. Once your customized enclosure is assembled and packaged, it can be shipped to your door.
